    Lake Toblino

    Provincial Nature Reserve

    Situated in the terminal section of the Valle dei Laghi, carved out and shaped in the Quaternary era by a series of glaciers. Lake Toblino was formed following the damming of the valley by the conoid of the Sarca River.
    The area encompassing Lake Toblino and the surrounding wooded slopes is of considerable naturalistic value, with the presence of a sub-Mediterranean type of plant landscape thanks to the mildness of the climate.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and is one of the protected areas that make up the Sarca River Park.

    Lake of glacial exarction on the porphyry plateau of Mount Calisio, situated between the Cembra Valley and Valsugana. It has a vegetation belt of floating and submerged hydrophytes and heliophytes; near the lake there is a small marsh with sedges, reeds and a thick moss layer. The surrounding area is occupied by Scots pine forests.

    Lake Loppio

    Lake Loppio is undoubtedly one of Trentino's best-known nature reserves, located in the valley that joins the Adige and Garda furrows. Originating from a double barrage (a large landslide obstructed the north-western side, while the Rio Gresta with its materials blocked the opposite side), the lake is now a swamp, as it was drained in the 1950s, with the construction of the tunnel between the Adige River and Lake Garda.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and is one of the protected areas that make up the local Monte Baldo Nature Park.

    Lake Loppio

    A vast lake basin in the valley incision between the Monte Bondone and Monte Baldo groups, which until 30 years ago occupied Lake Loppio, which then dried up. At the bottom of the ancient lake basin, a very rich vegetation of wet and marshy meadows has now developed, in the midst of which the white willow is spreading. Along some stretches of the banks there are peat banks with a rare vegetation of Cyperaceae.

    Lago delle Buse is a small body of water of glacial origin located towards the head of Val Cadino, a side valley of Val di Fiemme.
    Like the other 90 or so stretches of water in the Lagorai, it is a typical example of a high mountain oligotrophic lake and falls in an area that from a vegetation point of view is emblematic of the entire central part of the chain, with an abundance of stone pine (Pinus cembro).

    Northern shore of Lake Idro (Sarca Valley) with extensive reed thickets and above all magnocariceti. Of particular interest is a valley crossed by a tributary of the lake and completely invaded by magnocariceti.

    The nature reserve, located on the Trentino side of Lake Idro, is an important example of the landscape of the large lakes of the Insubric region.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Protection Area. It is one of the protected areas that make up the Valle del Chiese Network of Reserves.

    A eutrophic lake at the bottom of the valley, situated in a flat area at the watershed between the Valle di Ledro and the Val d'Ampola. In the lake there is a rich vegetation of swimming hydrophytes; the shores are occupied by a band of reeds, which are followed by magnocariceti, wet meadows and peat.

    Lake Ampola is located near the watershed between the Sarca-Garda and Chiese basins, at the bottom of the valley of the same name, which continues south-westwards into the vast Ledro Valley.

    Cariceto on the shores of Lake Covel, a small body of water on the edge of the wide meadowy esplanade of Covel, above the village of Peio.

    Pond of eutrophic type near Pergine (Valsugana), originating from an alluvial barrage, with a reed belt on the banks and phanerogamic vegetation floating and submerged in the centre.

    Located in the catchment basin of the Fersina torrent, near the village of Brazzanighe, not far from Pergine Valsugana, it consists of a small lake with a surface area of approximately one hectare, 160 m long and 100 m wide.
    The modest extension of the stretch of water, together with the reduced depth of the reservoir (a maximum of two metres) make this wetland more like a pond than a real lake.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and is one of the protected areas that make up the Brenta River Reserve Network.
