    Situated along the Noce stream in the Piana Rotaliana, it constitutes one of the last strips of the ancient river landscape that characterised the course of the main rivers and, in particular, the Adige River and its tributaries.
    Nowadays these wetlands have become very rare, especially due to the profound alterations caused by land reclamation.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation.

    A fluvial and perifluvial environment involving the final stretch of the Torrente Noce, in the lowest portion of the Val di Non, immediately upstream of the gorge that the Noce excavates among the limestone rocks before flowing into the Piana Rotaliana and then into the Val d'Adige. The terrain, often soaked or invaded by water, hosts a rich perifluvial hygrophilous vegetation.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and Special Protection Area.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and Special Protection Area; it is one of the protected areas that make up the Brenta River Reserve Network.

    The reserve, together with the nearby local reserve Il Laghetto A, is included in the Special Area of Conservation of the same name and is one of the protected areas that make up the Fiume Brenta Reserve Network.

    The nature reserve comprises a number of peat basins on the Tesino plateau, which are home to vegetation associations and botanical species that are extremely rare on the southern side of the Alps. In addition to the actual wetlands, the biotope also includes part of the surrounding woods and some meadow areas, thus constituting an area with valuable characteristics of environmental variety.

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation.
