Description
A site on the valley floor of an exalpic/submontane environment with a sub-flat morphology, developed along a stream with its tributaries.
Broadleaf formations dominate, ranging from mesophilous (beech - presence of English oak) to meso-hygrophilous (maple, ash, etc.) to hygrophilous (cinereous willow, white alder; localised) depending on the micromorphology.
Some floristic (rare willow species) and vegetational aspects (especially a few uncommon sedge thickets) are noteworthy and justify the site's designation. It is a vitally important biotope for the reproduction of many species of amphibians and reptiles.
