Description
A relict marshland area on a calcareous substratum, with very rare vegetation that has been almost entirely destroyed by land reclamation.
It is a vitally important biotope for the reproduction of many species of amphibians and reptiles.
The site is also of great importance for the nesting, resting and/or wintering of bird species that are protected or in strong decline, and/or have a localised distribution in the Alps.
Presence of Annex II invertebrates indicating good naturalness of the running waters.
