Alpine lake located on Cavallazza, a rocky massif overlooking Passo Rolle, municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza
The local reserve falls within the territory of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park.
A high-altitude lake that filled an erosion basin of ancient glaciers.
Cavallazza was the theatre, like the entire Lagorai front line of which it is part, of fighting during the Great War. There are still many traces at high altitude with trenches, communication trenches, fortifications and tunnels.
