General information
The activities that characterise the digital facilitation centres and which are based on the European DigCompframework are:
- support generally provided by appointment at a service desk
- online self-paced training
- group training (in person and via online channels) through micro-courses designed to help solve practical problems.
Facilitators at the support centres will deliver personalised teaching using a range of synchronous and asynchronous tools, specifically:
- concepts are learnt primarily through self-directed learning
- what has been learnt is applied in person through ‘learning by doing’ processes.
Users will be empowered and made aware of the following topics:
- use of the internet and digital technologies
- use of the main digital services provided by public bodies and made available online
- use of the main private digital services: for example, those relating to video conferencing, email, social media and instant messaging apps.
Half of the 22 centres in Trentino will be set up at the local offices of the Autonomous Province of Trento, and the other half at libraries or municipal bodies, through a collaboration agreement between the Province and the Consortium of Trentino Municipalities. The scheme is designed to cover all the valley communities in Trentino:
- Val di Fiemme Local Community (2 centres),
- Primiero Community (1 centre),
- Valsugana and Tesino Community (1 centre),
- Alta Valsugana and Bersntol Community (1 centre),
- Valle di Cembra Community (1 centre),

Each centre will provide at least 20 hours of facilitation per week to the public. Each centre will have two facilitators trained through a dedicated programme, and a team of at least seven additional facilitators will operate on a mobile basis, supporting both the permanent centres and covering outlying areas through specific facilitation sessions for the territories furthest from the centres.
The project envisages the opening of the first 16 centres within the first year of operation and a further 6 the following year.
