Public Administration

In Trentino, it is the Autonomous Province of Trento that exercises almost all the functions and, consistently, provides citizens with almost all the public services that in ordinary regions are provided by the State: school, university, research, health, welfare, defence of the territory, work, industrial policies, transport, energy, civil protection, culture and more are provincial competences, regulated, managed and financed by the Province itself, in coordination with the local authorities of the territory, without weighing on the State budget. Only some matters reserved for the State remain excluded, such as foreign policy or public finance, as well as constitutional bodies, the exercise of jurisdiction, the Bank of Italy, tax agencies, the army, defence, law enforcement and finally social security.
