Every day we hear talk of the European Union, its actions and decisions, but it is difficult for us to grasp what the European Union actually does for us as citizens and for our region.
The EU, together with the Italian State and the Autonomous Province of Trento, supports development policies directly within the Trentino region through the ERDF, ESF+ and EAFRD funds, which offer a wide range of opportunities for citizens and businesses. At the same time, Trentino has the opportunity to grow and build an ever-wider network of partnerships thanks to European sector-specific funding programmes.
The EU has also launched Next Generation EU, an extraordinary €750 billion programme to respond to the pandemic crisis, which requires each Member State to submit its own National Recovery and Resilience Plan(NRRP).
Our province is also home to two European Commission information centres: Europe Direct Trentino and the European Documentation Centre in Trento (CDE Trento). These centres are the means through which the European Commission maintains a presence in the region; they promote European culture and citizenship by making all the information citizens need readily available.
