The Autonomous Province of Trento is closely following the issue of reimbursements for medical devices and is aware of the difficult situation of companies, including those in Trentino, and their employees. It is a problem that concerns not only Trentino but the whole of Italy and is the subject of discussions with the government. Faced with a regulation that is precisely national, the Autonomous Province has also had to implement the ministerial decrees of last July, published in the Gazzetta in September, which provide for the obligation of companies to reimburse 50% of the excess expenditure made by the Regions. And it therefore approved the lists with the amounts to be repaid by the individual medical device companies for a total value of EUR 47.871 million. However, since the regulations are being challenged in the administrative justice system, the Province is waiting for the judgement of the Lazio Regional Administrative Court (TAR) on the request for suspension, to which Trentino will also comply promptly. The provincial administration, with the Health and Social Policies Department coordinated by the general manager Giancarlo Ruscitti, will continue the technical investigations. The aim is to work on solutions that will allow the companies to guarantee their activities and with them an essential supply service for the health system and patients.
