"Water resources are a precious good, as is the share of energy that can be derived from them, through hydroelectric exploitation. I have spoken with my colleague Maurizio Fugatti and, aware of the importance of these issues, we have asked the Veneto Region and the Autonomous Province of Trento to set up a technical round table, from which we hope shared solutions can emerge regarding the amount of free electricity that the concessionaires of large hydroelectric derivations must provide annually to the services in the territories concerned. On these issues, dialogue and the search for virtuous solutions will be the basis for the work of the Veneto and Trentino experts who will sit at the discussion table starting as early as next week, with the administrative pragmatism that characterises our realities,' announced the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia.
"These are complex matters, where the national legislation must be linked with the laws and regulations expressed at provincial and regional level, respecting the autonomy and needs of the territories,' said the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti. 'With President Zaia, the dialogue is open and close, even on these issues, and shared solutions may emerge that not only remedy some tangled situations, but may also be a basis for the efficiency and systemisation of an area where there is still much work to be done. The Autonomous Province of Trento and Veneto are working together on this'.
