   The nature reserve comprises three spatially separate and very different areas in terms of the environments present. These are the last surviving "patches" of a very special environmental situation that once existed, much more extensive than today, around the village of Lases and the lake of the same name.

   The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation.

   Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

   It comprises three distinct areas in the Cembra Valley.
   - a small valley largely formed by porphyry debris, at the base of which a thermal inversion phenomenon is observed, so that even in the summer months ice may be present in some holes in the ground (ice holes)
   - a basin, also formed in the porphyries, with a transition peat bog;
   - the eastern bend of Lake Lases, with extensive magnocaricolous and reed beds.

   The nature reserve coincides with a vast wetland area that occupies almost the entire valley floor of the Val Lomasone, a glacial valley opening onto the Campo Lomaso plain. The landscape is essentially natural, little modified by man, and the peat bog, with its considerable extension, is of enormous value.

   The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and is located near the local Lomasona and Pozza del Prete Reserves. It is one of the protected areas that make up the Sarca River Park.

   Alder and willow riparian forest along the course of the Cismon Torrent, municipality of Mezzano.

   A peat bog in Val Lomasona, municipality of Comano Terme, located a short distance from the Lomasona Provincial Nature Reserve and the Torbiera Lomasona SAC, to which we refer for further information on nature.

   The reserve is one of the protected areas that make up the Sarca River Park.

   Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

   Wetlands characterised by turficolous species that are today in regression. An interesting area known for its considerable migratory flow, testified by the intense hunting activity in progress and the presence of bird hunting posts (practised until the 1950s).
   Reproductive habitat for Rana Temporaria and occasionally Triturus alpestris.

   This nature reserve comprises two extremely different environmental types: a wetland and an arid zone, located respectively at the foot and on the flanks of a small relief indicated on topographic maps as 'Doss Le Grave'.

   The Reserve is part of the larger Special Area of Conservation "Monte Barco - Le Grave".

   Provincial nature reserve

   The nature reserve comprises two small wetlands, the 'Laghet grant' and the 'Laghet picol', located in an area characterised by the deposits of material landslides from the slope of Monte Zugna and collectively known as 'Lavini di Marco'.
   The main reasons for naturalistic interest are geomorphological (post-glacial landslide) and as a breeding station for various species of Amphibians.

   The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation (with the name 'Laghetti di Marco').

    Local reserve

    Cariceto on the slopes of the Adamello-Presanella massif, municipality of Massimeno.

    The area is included in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park and is part of the much larger Adamello Presanella SAC.

    Local reserve

    Peat bog not far from the Laghi di Lusia lakes, in the Cima Bocche massif, municipality of Moena.

    The area falls within the territory of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park and is included in the much larger Natura 2000 areas ZSC Lagorai Orientale Cima Bocche and ZPS Lagorai, to which we refer you for further information on nature.

    Special Protection Area - SPA

    The Lagorai mountain chain, located in the Central Alps, represents one of the least anthropised areas in the entire Alpine arc.
    The perimeter of the SPA includes a vast area between Val di Fiemme and Valsugana, the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park (subdivided into 6 SCIs) and 7 other SCIs: Valle del Vanoi, Val Campelle, Brocon Pass, Val Cadino, Valfloriana wetland, Lago delle Buse and Catena di Lagorai.
    The area is particularly varied both from a purely geological and geographical-environmental point of view.
    The most relevant part of the SPA consists of the Lagorai porphyry massif, composed of a succession of ridges and peaks, with vast rocky environments and high-altitude grasslands.
    The easternmost part includes the limestone-marly reliefs of the Costazza-Castellazzo and the dolomite complex of the Pale di San Martino, characterised by an elevated glaciocarpic plateau that precipitates with spires and precipices towards the Valle del Cismon and Val Canali.
    Also included in the SPA are the porphyry chain between the Valles Pass and the Lusia Pass, the high basin of the Travignolo torrent and, to the south, the granite complex of the Cima d'Asta.
    Priority habitat 6210 (wonderful orchid blooms) present only in traces.

    Lagorai Orientale - Cima Bocche

    Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

    The site includes the porphyry chain between Passo Valles and Passo Lusia and its regular southern slope as far as Torrente Travignolo, as well as the stretch of the Lagorai porphyry chain east of Forcella Cece as far as Passo Rolle, the Scanaiol subgroup, the Valsorda and the upper Valzanca.
    The spruce forest fades high up into the cembreta, above which lie the alpine meadows and the ridge and summit environments. There are a few mountain pastures, some of which are still mounded. A few alpine lakes add to the landscape.

    Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

    Vast glacial basin forming part of the catchment basin of the Fersina torrent, completely invaded by the vegetation of transition peat bogs (floating meadows). Until a few years ago, the largest "aggallate" of the entire Trentino region was developed here. Following the excavation of the peat, there is now a vast body of water in the centre of the basin.
    The vegetation is represented by the remnants of the aggallate vegetation, while in the peat excavation basins the water lily has spread.

    Provincial nature reserve

    Located in Pergine Valsugana, it consists of a peat bog occupying the bottom of a basin, separated from the Pergine valley floor only by a modest relief, the Doss del Zucàr.
    Although its floristic and vegetational richness has been partly compromised by mining activity, this peat bog - one of the largest at low altitude in Trentino - still preserves an extraordinary vegetal heritage.

     

    The Reserve is also a Special Area of Conservation and is one of the protected areas that make up the Brenta River Reserve Network.

    A small basin of glacial origin on the Dossone di Cembra, which occupies at its centre a small lake being filled by vegetation (Local reserve - Transition peat bog).

    The biotope encompasses sparsely anthropised summit forest environments and the so-called Lago Nero (Black Lake), an interesting raised bog that gave its name to the protected area.

    The biotope is also a Special Area of Conservation and is one of the protected areas that make up the Val di Cembra Avisio Network of Reserves.

    Lake Tovel

    Provincial nature reserve - Biotope not established

    Lake Tovel was formed in a dolomitic rock basin surrounded by an almost pure coniferous forest.
    The importance of the biotope is linked to the world-famous phenomenon of its reddening, due to the presence of a microscopic unicellular organism, the Glenodineum sanguineum.

    The biotope is included in the Adamello Brenta Natural Park territory.

    Lake Toblino

    Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

    A lake at the bottom of the valley (Sarca Valley), with a belt of marsh vegetation (mainly reed thicket) and lake vegetation (a few nuclei of yellow water lily 'lamineto'); in some places along the banks there are also a few nuclei of white willow willow woods. The site also includes the hills surrounding the lake, with coppice woods of holm oak.
