Women and work
Women's work represents an important factor in economic development. While it is true that the data tell us that women are increasingly present in the workplace and sometimes even reach important positions, there are still strong imbalances represented by the still low presence of women in top positions.
This situation is in fact generated by many factors, including the occurrence of gender discrimination within companies due mainly to the family care needs that women take on more. These, in fact, face a multiplicity of tasks that complicate their access or career development, compared to their male colleagues.
On the other hand, it is well known that an increase and enhancement of women's work produces economic benefits and better performance for companies and the economic system in general, also affecting women's well-being and economic independence.
For the Autonomous Province of Trento, the issue is of priority importance and it comes into play for women and businesses in supporting female employment and work-life balance.
