Responsibilities and functions
The Chamber of Commerce is an autonomous public-law body tasked with representing the business community and the economic interests of the region as a whole. Its mission is to promote sustainable economic growth by supporting businesses in the areas of innovation and development, entrepreneurial training, product promotion and economic information. Among its main functions, the following are particularly noteworthy: supporting the growth and technological innovation of SMEs, maintaining the Register of Companies, monitoring prices, the assessment of trade practices and customs, the identification of unfair terms in standard form contracts, the drafting of model contracts, the protection of competition, the combating of offences against the public economy, the protection of industrial property through the registration of trade marks and patents, arbitration and conciliation, the promotion of the local area and female entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial training and the preparation of economic surveys.
Within the current regulatory framework, these functions are intended not only in relation to the business sector, but also to its key stakeholders. In this regard, the Chamber of Commerce is committed to safeguarding the interests of all actors within the economic system, insofar as these are compatible with the broader interests of the market: to this end, it collaborates at a local level with other bodies and institutions, such as the Autonomous Province of Trento, on the basis of a specific Programme Agreement.
‘Prontiall’impresa’ (Ready for Business), the tagline accompanying the organisation’s logo, stems precisely from this need: to express its renewed mission in support of businesses and the local area.
