Preschool enrolment 2025

Provincial and equivalent pre-schools provide pre-school services for children in the 3-6 year age group, for no less than 10 months of the year, for five days a week and for seven hours a day plus optional extended daily hours. Preschool attendance is optional.

Ordinary attendance (for 7 hours a day when the school is open) is free of charge. On the other hand, the financial contribution of families, calculated according to the ICEF system, is required for the costs of the school canteen service and the extended daily timetable service.

For the activation of the daily timetable extension service, only applications completed with payment made by Wednesday 2 April 2025 will be considered useful, according to the following procedures

1) in the case of enrolment in a provincial pre-school, the fee shall be paid according to the instructions given in the "pagoPA" payment notice. Payment of the fee due to the Autonomous Province of Trento is made exclusively through the PagoPA method. The parent responsible for making the payment (the applicant) will receive on his/her email account indicated in the application form, a notice containing all the elements for making the payment (amount, debtor, IUV code). The subscriber of the application

• must pay the notice by going to a physical counter (ticket offices), by accessing PagoPA via mypay https://mypay.provincia.tn.it/pa/home.html using the dedicated Apps (IO, Sisalpay, Satispay, Bancomatpay) or by using an online bank account;
• he/she does not have to send the school/circle proof of payment as there is an automatic acknowledgement via PagoPA. 2) in the case of enrolment at an equivalent kindergarten, the fee is paid according to the instructions provided by the managing body:

• payment to the managing body of the school by bank transfer (indicating in the reason for payment extended hours, school of _______ , no. of hours required___, child's personal data) using the bank account details provided by the managing body for the school of reference
• sending the managing body of the school the receipt certifying the payment

3) in the case of enrolment at the equivalent nursery schools of the Asif G.B. Chimelli di Pergine and Roncogno for the payment of the fee due, the payment is made exclusively through the PagoPA method.

For the 2025/2026 school year, children resident or domiciled in the province of Trento, born in the period between 1 January 2020 and 31 January 2023, are entitled to enrol in pre-school.
For pre-enrolment from January 2026, children resident or domiciled in the province of Trento, born in the period from 1st February 2023 to 30th April 2023, may enrol in the period from 1st to 8th October 2025.

Pre-enrolment applications

The pre-enrolment application submitted between 20 January and 6 February 2025 (which allows priority in the allocation of places from January 2026) must be confirmed by submitting the enrolment application between 1 October and 8 October 2025.

The application for enrolment is submitted by one of the parents or those exercising parental responsibility over the child. The application for enrolment is shared by both parents: to this end, the parent completing the application declares that he or she has made the choice in compliance with Articles 316, 337b and 337c of the Civil Code, which require the consent of both parents or those exercising parental responsibility over the child.

The application must be submitted ONLINE via SPID, CIE, CNS or CPS.
The service will be active from 8 a.m. on Monday 20 January to 8 p.m. on Thursday 06 February 2025.

• For kindergarten education according to the Montessori methodology, the registration procedure is carried out exclusively in paper form on a special form
• As a residual option, for provincial pre-schools, the paper application form can also be used.
• For equivalent kindergartens, the forms can be found on the websites of the relevant associations: Federazione provinciale scuole materne, Associazione Co.E.S.I. or Asif Chimelli

The paper application, completed in full and duly signed, must be sent in the following ways

• electronically: for provincial schools to the following address: servizio.infanzia@pec.provincia.tn.it and at the same time also to the email address of the reference coordination circle of the preschool where you wish to enrol; for equivalent preschools to the certified electronic mail box (PEC) of the individual school
• by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt, enclosing a copy of a valid identity document of the applicant parent; the date of the postmark of the accepting post office will be considered the official date of dispatch
• by fax with an attached copy of a valid identification document of the parent

Vaccination compliance status is a condition for admission to kindergarten attendance.

The receptivity of the school (maximum number of children/sections) must be made known to the families before enrolment opens. Once enrolment has been collected, the management committee is required to

• in the case of schools with a sufficient number of places to accommodate all the enrolments received, compile an alphabetical list of enrolled children
• in the case of schools with fewer places available than the number of enrolments received, compile the graduated list of enrolled children and the ranking list of those on the waiting list. The lists and rankings prepared by the management committees are published on the school notice board by Monday 17 February 2025. In case of exclusion, the committee will inform the family by email.
