Presented today in Rovereto was the Oriente Occidente Dance Festival, a well-established reality on the cultural scene and one of the most important Italian contemporary dance festivals, known throughout the world. The Festival is flanked by an activity of production, training and dissemination of dance culture, the value of which for the territory was also emphasised by the councillor for education, university and culture Mirko Bisesti, who spoke at the press conference attended by, among others, the mayor of Rovereto Francesco Valduga and the president of Oriente Occidente Paolo Baldessari.
"Today's presentation shows all the value of the ideas and planning of Oriente Occidente and the great work done for a high level programming, both national and international, that has been the pride of this institution for years," said the councillor. "The importance of artistic relations and opening up beyond our borders have an effective spin-off not only for the city of Rovereto, but for the whole of Trentino. They represent, in fact, an opportunity for our young people, whom we intend to involve not only to introduce them to the cultural richness of the Festival Oriente Occidente's offer, but also in a personal and community artistic growth, through proposals throughout the year. This is why, for the first time this year, we have sought to coordinate regional actions and projects through specific grants. This is a challenge that will help broaden our horizons also in the cultural sphere,' Bisesti continued.
