This morning, the Councillor for Health, Social Policies, Disability and Family, Stefania Segnana, accompanied by the general manager of the Health Department, Giancarlo Ruscitti, and by the heads of the Health Policy Service and the Pharmaceutical Service of the Local Health Authority, met with the Provincial Commission in charge, formed by patient associations and the managers and health personnel of the Trentino diabetes centres.
The meeting was organised in order to illustrate the main changes introduced by the Council resolution of last September, which came into force on 1 January, and which modified the procedures for the purchase of devices for the prevention and treatment of diabetes, which are then supplied to patients through local pharmacies.
In fact, since the beginning of the year, the new directives provide that pharmacies are to be paid a fee for the distribution of needles, strips, glucometers, sensors and lancets, which are purchased by the Apss through participation in a special tender - Framework Agreement - carried out by the Veneto Region and no longer under an agreement.
