Description
Provincial authorisation must be obtained for the construction or alteration of alpine huts, hiking refuges and bivouacs (defined as alpine facilities). This authorisation is issued by the Co-ordination Commission and applies to work on the main buildings and ancillary works (e.g. cableway, water adduction and storage facilities, waste water management facilities, storage facilities of any kind, helicopter pad, hydroelectric power station and power line).
Landscape authorisation for mountaineering facilities is given by the Town Planning and Landscape Protection Service expressed within the framework of the Coordination Commission and therefore no authorisation from the Community Landscape Commission is required.
The authorisation of the Coordination Commission does not include:
- impact assessment for interventions that affect, even partially, the protected areas of the Natura 2000 network (SAC and/or SPA) or other protected areas - to be acquired from the Sustainable Development and Protected Areas Service, prior to submitting the application
- authorisations relating to cultural heritage - to be acquired following authorisation by the Coordination Commission;
- authorisations and/or concessions for the protection of public waters, occupation of the provincial water domain or relating to hydraulic works - to be acquired following authorisation by the Coordination Commission;
- provisions for the protection of the environment from pollution - to be acquired following authorisation by the Coordination Commission;
- fire prevention opinion if the number of beds exceeds 25 - to be obtained following authorisation by the Coordination Commission.
