Fuel: technical certification of plant for private use

In the case of an SCIA for the opening of a fuel distribution installation for private use, the certification of the qualified technician attesting to the conformity of the installation with the indicated requirements must be forwarded by the professional appointed by the company, since this document represents the acceptance of the installation.

Even in the case of authorisation, in order for the system to be put into operation, the professional appointed by the company must submit to the competent office, within 30 days of the end of the installation work, the certification of the qualified technician attesting to the conformity of the system with what has been authorised, since this document represents the acceptance of the system.

An administrative penalty of a sum of between EUR 200 and EUR 1,200 shall be imposed on anyone who operates the fuel distribution facility for private use before submitting the certification.

Technicians employed by companies who have applied for authorisation to install a new installation, to renovate an existing fuel distribution system for private use or those who submit an SCIA for the installation of a new system.

The certification is sent

• for installations up to 10 mc, at the same time as the SCIA for the opening of a new installation for private use/renovation of the existing installation;
• for plants greater than 10 cubic metres, within 30 days of the end of the installation/renovation of the plant.

The certification is verified by the competent office and included in the fuel distribution facility's file. The competent office shall inform the user if any further formalities are necessary.
