Instructions for activating the Health Card/Provincial Services Card to access online public administration services

Description

In order to access online services of the public administration, several authentication methods are available, including the Health Card/Provincial Services Card (CPS).

The card must be equipped with the gold-coloured microchip, which contains the identity certificate and allows access to services while guaranteeing security and privacy.

In order to use the CPS for authentication, it must first be activated.

Who it's for

All citizens who are in possession of a Health Card/Provincial Services Card (CPS) equipped with a microchip.

The card can be activated by:

  • the holder, if he/she is an adult or an emancipated minor;
  • by a guardian or curator, if the holder is a person under guardianship or curatorship.

What to do

To activate the card, it is necessary to go to one of the authorised counters by appointment.

Special cases

Child Digital Identity

The issuing of a minor's digital identity through activation of the Health Card/CPS by the person exercising parental authority is no longer possible, as it is legally invalid.

In the past, the activation of the minor's digital identity was necessary in order to be able to access the minor's TreC - Cartella Clinica del Cittadino.

Today, citizens interested in accessing the TreC - Cartella Clinica del Cittadino of their minor child must contact the Azienda Provinciale per i Servizi Sanitari.

Information is available on this dedicated page of the Provincial Health Services Agency's portal: https://www.apss.tn.it/Servizi-e-Prestazioni/Accesso-alla-TreC-di-un-minore.

In order to access online services provided by the public administration, it is necessary to wait for the second part of the access codes to be sent.

In order to use the Tessera Sanitaria-Carta Provinciale dei Servizi (CPS) as an authentication tool for accessing the online services of the public administration, it is necessary, in addition to the PIN/PUK codes , to have a smart card reader and to install drivers on your computer to manage the card in your possession.

The drivers also allow you to change the PIN and unlock it with the PUK, if necessary.

The browsers compatible with the drivers are:
