Artificial Intelligence in Trentino’s public administration

The Autonomous Province of Trento is taking action on several fronts to streamline administrative processes through the use of artificial intelligence tools.

This drive for innovation is being consolidated on two fronts:

• Article 22-bis of Provincial Law No. 16/2012 (introduced by Article 11 of Provincial Law No. 9/2024), entitled ‘Implementation of artificial intelligence in administrative activities’, establishes a framework for artificial intelligence within the provincial regulatory system;
• Establishment of the Simple Mission Unit (UMSe) for Artificial Intelligence, a body dedicated to the governance, development and monitoring of AI initiatives within administrative structures.
