General information
The Support EUSALP project strengthens the governance of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) through a Technical Secretariat (TSS) and a network of 17 partners, ensuring the long-term coordination of the nine Action Groups. The initiative integrates the results of these activities into public policy for the Alps and promotes the visibility of the strategy, actively engaging citizens and the younger generation.
For further information on the Strategy, please visit theofficial EUSALP website.
Goals
The project aims to strengthen transnational coordination and cooperation amongst the 7 countries and 48 regions of the Alpine Strategy through the operational and ongoing support of the Technical Secretariat (TSS). Support EUSALP also helps to ensure the monitoring and practical implementation of the activities of the nine Action Groups (AGs) to address the key challenges of innovation, mobility, the environment and energy, in line with the provisions of the EUSALP action plan and the policies of the European Green Deal.
The main actions implemented by the project include:
- facilitating the involvement of all local stakeholders in the EUSALP policy cycle;
- increasing horizontal coordination and supporting closer collaboration between the Action Groups to facilitate the definition of common strategic priorities;
- facilitating the implementation of the Action Groups’ work plans;
- facilitating improved multi-level collaboration from both a political and a project perspective;
- supporting the implementation of the Strategy through the targeted use of funds available at regional, national and European level;
- to raise the profile of EUSALP and increase the involvement of all key stakeholders.
The Province of Trento plays an active role in all Work Packages and, in particular, coordinates Action Group 3, which focuses on the labour market, education and training. Some activities involve participation as a strategic observer in the Euregio EGTC, which acts as co-leader of Action Group 4 on the topic of mobility.
