Independent living and de-institutionalisation of the elderly, in particular the non-self-sufficient

The project intends to prevent the institutionalisation of the non self-sufficient elderly by ensuring, as an alternative to long-term hospitalisation in public residential facilities, an equipped housing context together with an integrated home-type social and socio-sanitary assistance pathway, enabling the person to achieve and maintain maximum autonomy and independence.

The project is divided into infrastructural interventions aimed at both the renovation of buildings (making them accessible and safe) and the renovation/rehabilitation and home automation adaptation of existing housing to create autonomous spaces/accommodations and to identify common spaces to complement individual ones.

The elderly in the accommodation will benefit from specific home care packages.

In addition, it is planned to strengthen the integrated network of services aimed at persons in need of an emergency control and assistance service (tele-help and remote control).

Ensuring an independent and de-institutionalised life for the elderly, in particular non-self-sufficient ones, through the provision of technologically equipped individual flats, the strengthening of the tele-help/remote control service network and of integrated social and socio-sanitary assistance paths.

Target: at least 125 elderly persons in charge of the Territorial Social Services belonging to the various Communities

The Autonomous Province of Trento is the implementing body as the single territorial ambit, with the involvement of the following bodies as partners

• APSP Anaunia, Municipality of Dro, Municipality of Grigno, Municipality of Sant'Orsola Terme, Municipality of Trento (local level implementing bodies owning buildings)
• Community of Alto Garda and Ledro, Community of Primiero, Community of Vallagarina - Telesoccorso Centre, Community of Val di Non, Community of Valsugana and Tesino (implementing subjects at local level)

The implementation of the NRP in Trentino fits coherently into the programme framework for sustainable provincial development, according to the policies identified in the provincial Economic and Financial Document and its Update Note

With Directorial Decree of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies no. 98 of 9 May 2022, the lists of projects of the Ambiti Sociali Territoriali (single framework for the Province of Trento) were approved.

In 2023 the outline of the agreement between the Province and the local implementing bodies was approved (Resolution no. 1990 of 20 October 2023).
