Extending the use of national digital identity platforms (SPID, CIE)

The project made it possible to integrate and technologically upgrade the CIE Digital Identity platform as an authentication method on the online services offered by the Province through the use of the OpenID Connect standard.

An amount of EUR 14,000.00 was granted to the authority for

• subscribing to the CIE digital identity platform
• the use of the OpenID Connect standard, or, alternatively, the provision of a suitable training plan to build the foundations for a subsequent technological transition.

The project was submitted in response to thePNRR public notice 1.4.4 "Extension of the use of the national digital identity platform - SPID CIE" - Public administrations other than municipalities and educational institutions (May 2022).

Funding by decree no. 49 - 2 / 2022 - PNRR.

Measure 1.4.4 of the PNRR aims to achieve the following European targets.

Target M1C1-145 (December 2025) - Number of Italian citizens with valid digital identities on the national digital identity platform: 42,300,000;

Target M1C1-146 (March 2026) - Number of public administrations (out of a total of 16,500) adopting electronic identification (eID) (SPID or CIE): 16,500.

The release of the new infrastructure and the accreditation of the Province on the 'Federation Enter with CIE' portal to allow the CIE to be used as an additional authentication tool for digital services published in the provincial catalogue of services.

The implementation of the NRP in Trentino fits coherently into the programme framework for sustainable provincial development, according to the policies identified in the provincial Economic and Financial Document and its Update Note

The amount of lump sum financing is determined according to

• of the type of organisation's membership
• the number of services activated;
• for Regions only, the class of resident population.

The disbursement of the financing is made in asingle lump sum following the successful integration and activation of the services through the platforms covered by the financing, as provided for inArticle 13 of the relevant public Notice.
