ECOEMPOWER

Empowering ecosystems at regional and local scale supporting energy communities

Empowering local and regional ecosystems supporting energy communities

General information

The main idea of ECOEMPOWER is tosupport regional authorities in their role as facilitators for renewable energy communities through the creation of a dedicated One Stop Shop (OSS).

By networking the various actors in the province of Trento who are working on the topic, the aim is to develop an access point (virtual and physical) where those who want to create an energy community can find technical but also economic, financial, legal, organisational, communication and educational support.

ECOEMPOWER activities will be developed and tested through the active participation of 5 regional authorities aiming at the creation of 5 regional OSS, and 15 local energy communities. The services developed within the project should act as replicators to develop further energy community projects in the territory.

Trentino involves three pilot territories: the Ladin school of Fassa, Levico Terme and Valle dei Laghi in which the Autonomous Province of Trento will provide support in the process of developing renewable energy communities in order to better define the services that will be rendered by the provincial One Stop Shop.

Goals

The project is part of the great objective of reducing climate-altering emissions by increasing the production of energy from renewable sources in order to achieve the objectives set out in the 2021-2030 Provincial Environmental Energy Plan.

In this, the Renewable Energy Communities play an important role that foresees the active involvement of the territories and within the project it is intended to systemise, under the provincial direction, all the various services present in the territory.
