Meteotrentino reports that, as often happens between mid-June and mid-August, high pressure of tropical origin has moved northwards. This prevents Atlantic disturbances from reaching Trentino, favouring very warm and stable days. This situation will last at least until the end of the month. In particular, in the lower and poorly ventilated valley floors, maximum temperatures close to 35 degrees centigrade will be reached. It will also be warm at night, with lows of over 20 degrees Celsius - so-called tropical nights. Despite the dominance of high pressure, weak infiltrations of unstable air may cause intense thunderstorms. The times most at risk are the afternoon and evening of today, Monday 23 June, and then Thursday 26 June. The thunderstorms may be localised but strong, with hail, heavy rain within minutes, frequent lightning and strong wind gusts.
