"The provincial Environmental Protection Agency ensures the constant control of the territory, the continuous monitoring of watercourses, lakes and groundwater with careful surveillance aimed at investigating even potentially critical situations," emphasised vice-president and environment councillor Mario Tonina, speaking yesterday evening at Villa Lagarina's town hall in front of the municipal council and the population on the subject of the presence of PFAS in water. "Generally speaking," added Tonina, "the provincial environmental picture is characterised by an average higher quality than that of the more anthropised territories, and there are no critical situations from an environmental point of view, except in carefully monitored situations.
Present with vice-president Tonina were Enrico Menapace, general manager of Appa, and Raffaella Canepel, manager of Appa's environmental quality sector. At the opening of the meeting, mayor Julka Giordani emphasised the concern aroused by the news in the press and how she immediately took steps to obtain information from the provincial structures, whose work, she said, was characterised by cooperation and transparency.
