This morning, the contracting company, Ter System of Cavedago, was handed over to the executing company for the safety and widening of the road section of the S.P. 125 road, branch to Samoclevo, in Val di Sole. The project was attended by provincial technicians from APOP, the provincial public works agency, and the Caldes municipal council.
The intervention envisages the widening of the provincial road, since currently the roadway in the section in question is 4.20 metres wide, despite being two-way. With the work, the width of the bituminised carriageway will be increased to 6 metres. On the upstream side, a pedestrian pavement, which is currently missing, will be created between the hamlet's car park and the cemetery.
In addition to the widening and securing of the road with annexed pedestrian pavement for approximately 160 metres, the work will include the construction of retaining walls with overlapping road safety barriers and counter walls, for a total length of approximately 140 metres and a maximum height of 3 metres, clad in tonalite stone according to existing types in the area. The work will also be completed with a rainwater disposal system and street lighting system. The total cost of the work, which is expected to be completed in about five months, amounts to just under EUR 740,000.
