The Primiero and Vanoi territories will be able to count on a new space, a nucleus dedicated to dementia. Set up on the ground floor of the A.P.S. 'San Giuseppe' house in Primiero, in direct relation with the Alzheimer's Garden, it will be able to accommodate, in the coming months, 10 residents currently in the facility. This morning, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the presence of the provincial councillor for health, the president of APSP San Giuseppe di Primiero and the board of directors, provincial representatives and mayors of the area, Don Giuseppe Da Pra, the president of Upipa, the staff of the rest home, representatives of local voluntary organisations, some residents, the designer Riccardo Nami of the Nami&Orler studio, and the local companies that worked on the construction of the work.
In his speech, the provincial councillor emphasised that dementia is a complex reality that requires an empathetic and respectful approach. Being close to people suffering from this pathology means in fact offering not only practical assistance, but also a loving presence, capable of understanding and respecting their dignity and individuality at all times. The centre inaugurated today goes precisely in this direction, i.e. to create an environment that promotes the well-being and dignity of people with dementia, as well as their families and carers.
