As announced last 26 March at the Riva del Garda Town Council meeting, a visit to the works for the realisation of Functional Unit 1.2 of the Garda Cycle Route took place today. Accompanying the mayor, councillors and town councillors were the president of the Province with the extraordinary commissioner for the work, Francesco Misdaris, the general manager of the Infrastructure Department, Luciano Martorano, and the geologist Claudio Valle, consultant to commissioner Misdaris for the Cycle Route.
During the inspection, the technical details of the project were illustrated: in particular, the various construction phases of the tunnels were observed, both the existing ones, which have been consolidated, and the new tunnels, which have been built to cushion the impact of large boulders. A section has also been cut into the route to allow for the passage of the emergency vehicle, and the external masking, in different shades of grey, which, at a distance, allows the work to blend in with the colour of the rocks, is currently being created. Finally, both the new and existing tunnels will be embellished with artistic decorations designed by architect Ferrari.
