In the evocative setting of the Castello del Buonconsiglio, as part of the Trento Festival of Economics, the panel moderated by journalist Pierangelo Soldavini, 'Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Productivity and Cognitive Automation', was held, featuring Ferruccio Resta, president of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Giulia Baccarin, CEO & Co-Founder MIPU Predictive Hub, Antonio Calabrò, president, Museimpresa and Fondazione Assolombarda, Giusella Finocchiaro, from the University of Bologna, and Marco Taisch, from the Milan Polytechnic.
The debate highlighted how, in a context of rapid technological evolution, innovation is crucial for business competitiveness. Collaboration with research and technology transfer centres, such as Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), therefore proves to be strategic to access specialised skills and cutting-edge solutions, facilitating the adoption of disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Big Data. The organic integration of these tools into business processes is a key success factor, offering companies a competitive advantage and new opportunities for growth. However, in an increasingly competitive international environment, where no player can win alone, the emergence of collaborative ecosystems requiring a close synergy between public institutions, academia and businesses becomes essential.
