Raffella Carrà, a kaleidoscope of colours for a unique style

Raffaella Carrà is still being paid homage even by international stars such as Jennifer Lopez or Lady Gaga who copied some of her style elements for the Met Gala the most important red carpet of the year, without forgetting that a pop star such as Madonna danced a tuca tuca on her 2012 tour and an entire collection of a well-known British brand was inspired by her. It is art that quotes art and puts it back into circulation, and fashion is the most important expression of the contemporary because it expresses reality at its best because it is more pop, in the sense of popular. Interviewed by Giulia Crivelli of the Sole24 Ore newspaper, this afternoon at the Festival dell'Economia, Massimiliano Capella, art and fashion historian and author of the book 'Raffaella Carrà tra moda e mito' (Raffaella Carrà between fashion and myth), talked about a character who has made the history of music, entertainment and fashion.

Montezemolo, Europe and the lack of leadership

"We must put everyone in a position to win a grand prize, putting our young people at the same starting point in the race of a lifetime. Starting from the school, and from the gap that still characterises the North and the South, to continue to invest in training and research. Because a country that does not do this is a country that does not look to the future'. Small and medium-sized enterprises, productivity and cognitive automation

In the evocative setting of the Castello del Buonconsiglio, as part of the Trento Festival of Economics, the panel moderated by journalist Pierangelo Soldavini, 'Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Productivity and Cognitive Automation', was held, featuring Ferruccio Resta, president of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Giulia Baccarin, CEO & Co-Founder MIPU Predictive Hub, Antonio Calabrò, president, Museimpresa and Fondazione Assolombarda, Giusella Finocchiaro, from the University of Bologna, and Marco Taisch, from the Milan Polytechnic.
The debate highlighted how, in a context of rapid technological evolution, innovation is crucial for business competitiveness. Collaboration with research and technology transfer centres, such as Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), therefore proves to be strategic to access specialised skills and cutting-edge solutions, facilitating the adoption of disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Big Data. The organic integration of these tools into business processes is a key success factor, offering companies a competitive advantage and new opportunities for growth. However, in an increasingly competitive international environment, where no player can win alone, the emergence of collaborative ecosystems requiring a close synergy between public institutions, academia and businesses becomes essential.

Improving econometric models, using AI, is in everyone's interest

At the Palazzo della Regione, for the 'Dialoghi' format of the Trento Festival of Economics, Marina Brogi, Professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries at 'La Sapienza' University of Rome, talks with Paolo Savona, President of CONSOB.
'More than answering the historical question "Quo vadis", the problem is where we are being dragged and what we can do'. Professor Paolo Savona expresses his concern about the mistakes that European central banks, including the ECB, are currently being forced to make. The underlying reason,' explains the chairman of CONSOB, 'is that econometric models are no longer able to provide monetary authorities with the answers or sufficient information to understand good choices. Today we are in a situation where monetary policy is no longer able to guide expectations, precisely because of errors. In order to make decisions, we only refer to the data, which, at this point, drive the choices, and it is no longer the choices that drive the data.

Illy and Sachs: 'The environmental transition should not frighten us. It will have positive economic implications'

On the fact that the environmental transition is inevitable, agree Andrea Illy, president of Illycaffè, and Jeffrey Sachs, professor at Columbia University and both co-presidents of the Regenerative Society Foundation, and they also agree that it is not a frightening change, but rather a path full of positive implications. 'We are on a collision course with nature,' says Sachs, 'so we are forced to change the way we produce and use energy, but also the materials we use, and much more. All this should not frighten us." On the contrary, continues Illy, "it is a possible process because it is already underway - the train has already left the station - and one that will ensure the survival of the economy itself: according to estimates, an increase of one degree in the Earth's temperature causes the loss of 12% of the world's GDP, while investing in clean energy has a series of benefits, including, for example, a 0.4% reduction in unemployment by 2050".

From regulatory definition to investment in scale, the European 'third way' to AI innovation

In the global narrative, it is said that great innovations are born in the United States, the power of development and implementation resides in China, while Europe is linked to a tendency to standardisation, to regulation. But is this really the case in the field of artificial intelligence? And what role can Europe play between the two world giants of innovation, China and America? This was the topic discussed today at the Trento Festival of Economics in a panel featuring speakers from the world of digital innovation, geopolitics and European law. What emerged was the search for a European and social 'third way' to innovation, the need for investments and projects of scale, and - at the Italian level - the fundamental protection of identity and Made in Italy.
