On the proposal of the Councillor for Health, Social Policies and Cooperation Mario Tonina, the Provincial Council today approved the Provincial Supplementary Agreement for general practitioners implementing the National Collective Agreement of 28 April 2022 (three-year period 2016/2018), signed by the negotiating delegation for general medicine on 12 June last. In this way, the priority objectives envisaged by the Territorial Assistance Planning Act are implemented, in particular the implementation of the National Chronicity Plan, the Provincial Prevention Plan, the reduction of improper accesses to the Emergency Room, the management of waiting lists and the improvement of appropriate prescribing. The Agreement is also consistent with the objectives of the PNRR referring to territorial care.
The parties undertook to resume negotiations shortly in order to fully implement the new organisational structure of contracted medicine envisaged by the Planning Act, also in light of the new National Collective Agreement, three-year period 2019/2021 of 4 April 2024. The commitment provides for EUR 1,450,000 for 2024 and EUR 3,500,000 when fully implemented. Added to this are the one-offs of EUR 70,000 for 2024 and EUR 150,000 for 2025 earmarked for the project to reduce improper accesses to the emergency room.
"In the short future, with the realisation of the Case della Salute (health centres) and with a review of the territorial medicine pathways, we will be able to guarantee a service that is even closer to the users, in order to give them the right answers,' Tonina commented. 'If general practitioners are put in a position to work in the best possible way, reducing bureaucracy and guaranteeing an adequate number of staff, we will be able to reduce queues at the Emergency Departments and waiting lists: this is our goal, for the good of citizens and our communities.
