At the proposal of Vice-President and Councillor for Education Francesca Gerosa, the Provincial Council today approved the criteria for the planning of permanent recruitment of primary and secondary school teaching staff. The measure authorises the filling of 100 per cent of the vacancies, which will be met by using the recently approved lists from the extraordinary competitions for primary and lower secondary schools held in the spring of this year. The other existing rankings for the various competition classes will also be used.
"This is one of the necessary steps for the administration to then be able to proceed with the stipulation of employment contracts with individual teachers," Gerosa explains. "A large part of the vacant posts on the staff will be filled, so as to ensure job stability for the system's precarious teachers and continuity in the provision of teaching services, along with greater overall solidity of the schools' staff.
Under the approved measure, for the first time, there will be stabilisation of staff on Montessori posts in primary schools, as well as substantial coverage of needs on support posts in all grades. For the primary school, the common post, the English language post and the German language post will also be affected. Successful convocations should ensure the conclusion of around 200 contracts, distributed among the various grades.
