Work continues apace on Intacture-The Natural Home of Data, Europe's first data centre built inside an active mine. Mining activities have been completed and a vertical cavern has been built that will connect the underground infrastructure with offices and the external plant area. As is well known, in addition to the data centre, the mine presents ideal conditions for the storage of goods of various kinds, and some Trentino products of excellence are already present in these spaces, which this afternoon were visited by the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, together with the provincial councillors for economic development, labour, university, research Achille Spinelli and agriculture, promotion of Trentino products, environment, hydrogeological defence and local authorities Giulia Zanotelli. Among others, the mayor of Predaia Giuliana Cova and the top management of Tassullo, with managing director Roberto Covi, Melinda, Cavit, Trentingrana and the board of directors of Intacture.
"The Intacture innovation infrastructure is the most striking and important example in Italy of a project that looks to the future and technologies, with the ability to do research in an extraordinary natural environment with unique characteristics, in which it fits perfectly. I would like to thank the University of Trento and all the private players who wanted to take advantage of this opportunity provided by the PNRR funds to look at something that is highly innovative in our territory and that can act as a centre of attraction for many talents, for many investments, and for many players who look to technology as their main area of business," said Spinelli.
"Today is a further opportunity to show how much the Autonomous Province of Trento is investing in energy efficiency and energy saving, but also in soil saving. Three excellences of our territory are showcased here: cheese, sparkling wine, and apples, which are stored inside the hypogeum. A project that has its own vision and perspective also from the tourism point of view, which testifies to the attention of the Trentino agricultural sector towards extremely topical issues that this sector has been engaged in for some time now,' Zanotelli commented.
