Following the sightings of a bear in Lagolo, a hamlet in the municipality of Madruzzo (see the monthly report for January published on the website Grandicarnivori.provincia.tn.it), the Fauna Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento intervened to shed light on the circumstances and the actions taken to guarantee the safety of the community. The animal in question had rummaged through a wet waste bin left inappropriately outside a private home: the provincial administration is clearly not in a position to monitor all private users on a daily basis, which makes the collaboration of citizens in the correct disposal of waste essential. Even during the winter, during the area's policing operations, the Trentino Forestry Corps has reminded residents and guests to pay the utmost attention to waste management in areas where plantigrades are present.
