Provincial nature reserve - Biotope not established
The biotope is located at the height of km 110 of the S.S. No. 50 of the 'Grappa and Rolle' road in the hamlet of Bellamonte, situated on the 'Dossi' on the orographic right of the Travignolo torrent.
On ignimbritic rocks and on morainic material, there are ample wet and peaty areas that have formed over time, giving the entire valley considerable importance from a naturalistic point of view.
There are numerous biotopes of local interest alongside those of provincial interest ("Palù dei Mugheri" and "Sorte di Bellamonte").
The most valuable feature of this biotope consists in the presence of a large local 'high' peat bog reserve, i.e. 'a plant world in its own right', autonomous and fed only by rainwater, consisting of a thick layer of sphagnum mosses that have slowly accumulated over the centuries.
