There are also a few patches of spruce forest on peat (Local Reserve Wooded Peat Forest).
Among other things, there are low fens with a predominance of Gramineae and Cyperaceae and with areas of sphagnum peat bogs, and numerous occurrences of genuine raised bogs with high substrate acidity indices.
In the southernmost parts, extensive mugoak, both slope and peat bog, can be seen.

    Echen peat bog

    Special Area of Conservation (SAC)

A plateau on the Folgaria Plateau, with a vast flat peat bog with Cyperaceae and Graminaceae (sedges and molinieti). On the eastern edge of the plateau, there are a number of draining dolines with magnocaricete vegetation.

Provincial nature reserve - Biotope not established

The biotope is naturally limited by the forest and high altitude shrubs.
It is more appropriately a 'low' type of Local ReservationFontinal Reservoir, the origin of which is caused by the large quantity of resurgence water that occupied the area and was later invaded by marsh vegetation, which formed the peat deposit on which the protected area is set today.
