Geothermal energy
In recent years, the use of geothermal resources, mainly for heating buildings, has become increasingly widespread also in Trentino. Since the end of 2009, regulations have been in force in the Province of Trento regulating the construction of closed-circuit geothermal plants and a map restricting their location in virtue of hydrogeological protection principles.
