Taxidermy and embalming: SCIA

In order to carry out the activity of taxidermist and embalmer, it is necessary to apply for a specific authorisation.

If the person concerned holds a valid authorisation issued by a state authority, by an authority of another Italian region or of the province of Bolzano, or by another competent local authority, the authorisation is replaced by sending the Segnalazione Certifica di Inizio Attività - SCIA.

Performing taxidermy or embalming for any reason without the appropriate authorisation/SCIA is punishable by an administrative fine of between € 258.23 and € 516.46.

The service is aimed at anyone who holds a valid authorisation title issued by a state authority, an authority of another Italian region or of the province of Bolzano and wishes to work as a taxidermist in the province of Trento.

The person concerned shall submit the report by one of the following means

1. by sending it by email to the PEC address indicated on the form;
2. by delivering it directly to the competent provincial structure, or to any other peripheral office of the Province
3. by sending it by registered mail with advice of receipt;
4. by sending it by fax to 0461/494747.

The interested party must submit the SCIA by enclosing with it

1. the list of all animals, live, dead or already prepared, in whatever capacity possessed;
2. the information notice pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 EU Regulation no. 679 of 2016;
3. a copy of a valid identity document.

From the submission of the SCIA. The days indicated are necessary for the public administration to verify the requirements and prerequisites.

The activity may begin after the SCIA has been sent.

Any negative outcome of the verification of requirements and prerequisites is communicated to the interested party by letter or PEC.
