Description
The environmental dimension acquires an increasingly important role in the 2021-2027 programming period, becoming an integral part of all the different stages accompanying the implementation of the ERDF Programme.
In fact, the European Commission has prescribed that at least 30 per cent of the resources allocated to the Programme must be used to achieve the climate objectives set by the Union, tracing a well-defined path for the implementation of European funds. The ERDF Programme of the Autonomous Province of Trento goes well beyond this threshold, approaching 40 per cent of the total allocated, amounting to some 72 million euro.
In addition, the Programme is in line with several provincial-level strategies in the field of environment and climate, such as the Provincial Sustainable Development Strategy (SProSS). In particular, consistency with the objectives and strategies of the SProSS is highlighted for each type of action in the ERDF Programme.
At the same time, already at the strategic definition stage, the Programme was subjected to the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) process. You can find all information about this procedure at this link.
In addition, with the 2021-2027 programming, two important novelties have been introduced with regard to the environment.
The first novelty concerns the principle of "Do No Significant Harm" (DNSH), i.e. not to cause significant damage to the environment; all information concerning the application of this principle to the 2021-2027 ERDF Programme of PAT can be found at this link.
