Description
Within the framework of the Working Community of the Alpine Regions, the Arge Alp Games project – managed and co-ordinated by the Canton of Graubünden – has, since 1985, (occasionally) and then continuously since 2002, to organise the Arge Alp Summer and Winter Games, with a view to the sustainable development of the most important sports typical of the Alps, including sport for athletes with disabilities.
The sports disciplines are as follows: athletics, sport climbing, football and football for people with disabilities, orienteering, ice hockey, figure skating, alpine skiing, table tennis and table tennis for people with disabilities, and shooting.
The Province of Trento, pursuant to Article 36 of Provincial Law No. 4 of 21 April 2016, supports the provincial committees, the delegations or sections of national sports federations and associated sports disciplines, in organising events taking place in Trentino and/or in the participation of teams of athletes in the Games.
Applications for fundingmust be submitted during the application window from 1 January to 31 March each year.
The Coordination of the Alpine Arc Regions organises the sporting events held annually in the 10 regions participating in the Arge Alp Games project: Bavaria, Graubünden, Lombardy, Salzburg, St Gallen, South Tyrol, Tyrol, Ticino, Trentino and Vorarlberg.
