Description
The Arge Alp strategy for the four-year period 2024-2027 focuses political and project reflection on the following priority cross-border issues that are contingent and common to the partner territories
- environmental protection, adaptation to climate change and management of natural hazards;
- economy in the Alpine space, with a focus on technical innovation, digitalisation, sustainable tourism and mountain agriculture;
- youth, education and sport;
- cross-cutting topics such as research, innovation, crisis and disaster management, health;
- sustainable energy production.
Through the Resolutions, official political documents approved annually, the Heads of Government of Arge Alp's partner territories (Italy with the Autonomous Provinces of Bolzano and Trento and the Lombardy Region, Austria with the Länder of Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Salzburg, Switzerland with the Cantons of Grisons, St. Gallen and Ticino, Germany with the Free State of Bavaria) direct territorial policies towards shared objectives, often also addressing the European institutions to support the specificity of the Alpine arc, especially in the ecological, social and economic fields.

Since 2005, when Arge Alp replaced the permanent technical commissions with specific working groups, more than 120 projects have been realised and are in the process of being completed.
Many topics have been addressed over the years:
- agriculture, nature and the environment
- youth and education;
- civil protection and climate protection;
- sport and tourism;
- culture and society;
- construction and spatial planning;
- migration;
- universities and archives;
- energy;
- transport;
- health;
- services of general interest in rural areas.
