The Civil Protection Department of the Autonomous Province of Trento comprises professionals and volunteers dedicated to protecting the population and the local area.
It responds to all emergencies and disasters, ensuring forecasting, prevention, early warning, rescue operations and reconstruction in collaboration with local and national authorities, whilst also overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the territory and its infrastructure.

Hazard Summary Map
The Hazard Summary Map (CSP) is a regulatory map which identifies areas characterised by varying degrees of restriction on land use, due to the presence of hydrogeological, avalanches, earthquakes and forest fires as described in the Hazard Maps.
The CSP is one of the constituent elements of the Provincial Urban Development Plan (PUP) (Provincial Law No. 5 of 27 May 2008) and serves as the reference tool for urban planning.

Hazard Maps
Hazard Maps (CaP) take into account hazards associated with hydrogeological phenomena, avalanches, floods, earthquakes, forest fires, certain hazardous substances, overhead cables or other obstacles to air navigation, and unexploded ordnance.
These are a series of tools produced in accordance with Article 10 of Provincial Law No. 9 of 1 July 2011, ‘Regulation of civil protection activities in the Province of Trento’, which identify and classify the hazards present within the territory.
The departments of the Autonomous Province of Trento responsible for hydrogeological hazards and risks contributed to the drafting of the CaP.

Seismic hazard map
Among the Seismic Hazard Maps, the seismic hazard map assesses not only the 'basic' seismic hazard, i.e. related to the so-called reference earthquake, but also the 'local' seismic hazard, i.e. due to site seismic effects.
