General information
So-called 'orphan sites' are those contaminated sites that have not been remediated by those responsible or by the owners of the land, because they are unknown or in default. The precise definition of an orphan site is contained in Ministerial Decree 269/2020, which establishes a funding programme for the environmental restoration of these sites. In relation to the funding provided for by Ministerial Decree 269/2019, the Autonomous Province of Trento, through the Provincial Environmental Agency (APPA), after assessing the priority requirements and taking into account the indications of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, has identified the following orphan sites in its territory for the purpose of requesting the necessary resources
Borgo Valsugana:
- Steel mill dust dump Località San Lorenzo
- Via Gozzer land
Mori:
- Locality Casotte lot no. 3
- Former Alumetal area
Goals
Reducing land occupation and improving urban regeneration by redeveloping orphan sites, with the burden of replacement works being borne by the public administration.
The goal is therefore to redevelop at least 70 % of the land area of orphan sites.
