Description
A patch of lake vegetation, in particular reeds, in a bend of a eutrophic lake, framed by an alder grove, which has been partly drained.
The site is also of importance for the nesting, stopping and/or wintering of protected or strongly declining bird species and/or those with a localised distribution in the Alps.
Historical presence of Annex II invertebrates that are indicators of intact, strongly declining wetlands. Presence of Annex II invertebrates indicating good naturalness of running waters.
Habitats of special interest not included in Annex I of Directive 92/43/EEC are present, in particular: Phragmition (reed beds) (30%).
