This morning the construction site was handed over for the safety work on the SP71 Fersina-Avisio road at km 31+850, in the municipality of Valfloriana, as part of the infrastructure works connected to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. This is the second of five interventions that will affect the provincial road. The start of the works - which will last 180 days - represents a fundamental step in the broader project to modernise and make safe the SP71, a strategic artery for access to the Fiemme and Fassa Valleys and for the connection with the Veneto region through the SS47 of the Valsugana. Present at the handover ceremony were - among others - the president of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the mayor of Valfloriana and the president of the Cembra Valley Community, as well as the director of the Road Infrastructure Office Bruno Lorengo and the owners of the Nicolodi Costruzioni company of Cembra-Lisignago, who won the tender. The total cost of the work amounts to 1,399,961.42 euro, of which 852,214.66 for works including safety charges. Improving the road network of the territories," it was explained, "does not only mean making traffic, which in this area is particularly heavy for heavy vehicles, flow more smoothly, but also investing in the quality of life of those who live, work, and move around every day in these valleys. Also in Val di Cembra, the project for the Friendship Bridge was also assigned, while in the municipality of Valfloriana, the provincial administration is working on further traffic management solutions.
