   The burden of debt: without awareness, the risk grows

   During the 20th edition of the Trento Festival of Economics, the topic of public debt was the focus of a dense discussion, hosted at the Cinema Vittoria and moderated by Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Morya Longo. Through a dialogue with three leading speakers - Maria Cannata (president of MTS and former General Manager of Public Debt at the MEF), Rita Mascolo (researcher at the University of Catania and LUISS in Rome) and Arrigo Sadun (president of TLSG - International Advisors, former executive director at the International Monetary Fund) - the meeting analysed the historical junctures and prospects of public debt in a rapidly changing global context.

   Carbone (Agenzia delle Entrate): 'Fight fraud with the help of AI, but control remains human'

   "Control activities will never be entrusted to an 'infernal machine' that replaces the human being". This was the assurance of Vincenzo Carbone, Director of the Revenue Agency, who spoke this morning at Palazzo Geremia as part of the panel entitled 'How to manage controls and conflicts'. At the centre of the analysis was artificial intelligence as a useful tool for rapid data processing. "The aim is to avoid conflict with taxpayers and businesses, to encourage discussion and the reaching of a shared solution, to allow the Agency to focus on combating tax fraud". The event, held as part of the 20th Trento Festival of Economics, was moderated by the deputy editor of Il Sole 24 Ore Jean Marie Del Bo. General Giuseppe Gerli, interregional commander of North Eastern Italy of the Guardia di Finanza; Professor Valeria Mastroiacovo of the University of Foggia; lawyer Benedetto Santacroce and Simone Zucchetti, partner at Tremonti-Romagnoli-Piccardi e Associati, also took part in the round table.

    Minister Foti at the Festival: 'Towards a new revision of the PNRR'

    Progress is being made towards a revision of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with the aim of putting Italy in a position to achieve all the objectives set. This was the announcement made by the Minister for European Affairs, the NRP, and Cohesion Policies Tommaso Foti, today at Palazzo Geremia for the meeting 'Competitiveness to be increased and how to achieve it' at the Festival of Economics. Interviewed by TG1 director Gian Marco Chiocci, Minister Foti addressed the issue of competitiveness for Europe in all its aspects and implications, without avoiding questions on current affairs and international and national politics.
