'Women are not funny': laughter, reflection and stereotypes turned upside down

In the refined setting of the Sala della Filarmonica in Trento, the Festival dell'Economia raised the curtain on one of the most surprising events of the Fuori Festival format: Le donne non fanno ridere (Women are not funny). A provocative title for a show that overturned every stereotype about female humour with grace, strength and irony. The audience? Involved, bewitched and perhaps, for once, truly confronted with the inversion of the parts.

Gaia, the thousand colours of music to tell the joy of living

With the catchphrase "Sesso e samba", shared with Tony Effe, she was the queen of the charts last summer, but for Gaia Gozzi, aka Gaia, that great success is already in the archives. This was explained by the young singer from Guastalla, protagonist of the Fuori Festival appointment for the first evening of the Festival dell'Economia at the Teatro Sociale. Gaia told her story to fans who did not want to miss the meeting with the Italian-Brazilian singer-songwriter, who bared her soul amidst memories of the past and a present marked by her participation in the last Sanremo Festival with the hit "Chiamo io Chiamo tu" and the release of her new album "Rosa dei venti". The photographs, before the live performance of some unplugged songs accompanied by a guitarist, are those that tie in with her participation in X Factor, it was 2016, her victory at Amici and the release of her first album in 2020. A path full of satisfaction for a girl who has clear ideas: 'The record market,' said Gaia, 'is cyclical: first at the top there was indie, now there is rap, trap and there will be more in the future, so I think you have to find your own identity, which does not mean not being touched by influences, by the musical code of the moment, but understanding who you want to be musically, what you want to transmit and follow your own path.

Shopping in other people's shopping carts. Italy and food impoverishment

'Shopping in other people's trolleys. Italy and food impoverishment' is the title of the book by Andrea Segré and Ilaria Pertot presented during a meeting organised by Confcooperative today at the Trento Festival of Economics. At the centre is the theme of food impoverishment, which in the publication is addressed not so much from the point of view of numbers, on a statistical level, but starting from people, from their stories.

From community cooperatives the renaissance of inland areas

"From community cooperatives: the renaissance of inland areas" was the theme of the meeting proposed by Confcooperative at the Festival of Economics in Trento. Maurizio Gardini, president of Confcooperative, highlighted the role of cooperatives alongside communities in facing this prolonged phase of uncertainty. "We need a new social pact," he said, "with the protagonism of citizens and the support of institutions. Which is not in incentives, but in the recognition of the role of these enterprises for the wellbeing of communities, also through access to funds for cohesion policies'.
'In this prolonged phase of uncertainty,' Maurizio Gardini continues, 'we must come to terms with the failure of traditional economic models, and we must understand what our role is at the side of communities to generate responses, starting from a reading of needs. We need a new social pact, with the protagonism of citizens and the support of institutions. Which is not in incentives, but in the recognition of the role of these enterprises for the wellbeing of communities, including through access to funds for cohesion policies'.

    Firm competitiveness of Italian multinationals

"Never in the last 80 years has our contemporary world been as unstable as it is now. How do Italian multinationals behave in this conjuncture marked by the pandemic, the energy crisis, conflicts and the shadow of duties?". Agnese Pini, editor-in-chief of the Monrif Group's daily newspapers (QN, Il Resto del Carlino, La Nazione, Il Telegrafo, Il Giorno) posed this key question to the guests at the panel 'Italian multinationals and competitiveness' held today at the Trento Festival of Economics in the boardroom of Palazzo Geremia. The unanimous response of entrepreneur Diana Bracco, ISTAT president Francesco Maria Chelli, and international economics professor Fabrizio Onida was that Italian multinationals have the flexibility, dynamism, and drive for innovation to be competitive and to bring greater competitiveness to the Italian manufacturing world.

    Made in Italy: Italy's strategies

"We are working to find new markets and to strengthen our presence in markets where we are already present. We are convinced that at this stage it is necessary to work harder to strengthen our country's international trade and to support companies that want to export at every level,' began Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who spoke about 'Made in Italy: Italy's strategies' today in connection with the Trento Festival of Economics. It was a three-way conversation that took the audience on a sort of 'round-the-world tour', from Japan, where Mario Vattani, Commissioner General for Italy Expo 2025 in Osaka, was, to Mexico, where Matteo Zoppas, President of ICE, the Agency for Foreign Promotion and Internationalisation of Italian companies, was, together with Minister Tajani, for an important Business Forum between Italian and Mexican companies.
