The objective concerns those projects that, by promoting an efficient use of water, through a reduction in losses and a better management of the uses consequent to an adequate measurement of the uses, allow a greater and more constant availability of the water resource for irrigation and are therefore configured as a measure of adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate change, increasing the resilience of the agro-ecosystem.The Ministry has used the DANIA database (National Database of Investments for Irrigation and the Environment) as a reference for the selection of the projects to be financed, as an effective programming tool that allows the involvement not only of the Regions/Autonomous Provinces, but also of the Irrigation Consortia and Authorities, taking into account objective criteria, such as the entity of the water savings ensured, the commitment to the installation of meters for measuring the volumes used, the strategic relevance of each investment with respect to the programming indications of the Local Authorities, and the level of execution of each intervention.
