The Trento Festival of Economics community remembers Jean-Paul Fitoussi, the internationally renowned economist who passed away last night, leaving a painful void for all those who knew his authoritative voice.
Professor emeritus at SciencesPo, lecturer at the Luiss University in Rome and member of the Center for Capitalism and Society at Columbia University, Fitoussi was among the expected guests at the next edition of the Festival, to which he played an important role in the organisation in recent months. We will certainly miss his analysis, attentive to the relationship between economy, society, democracy and development, which the people of the Festival had been able to appreciate when he had participated in the 2009 edition, presenting the Italian edition of the book 'The New Political Ecology - Economy and Human Development' written with Eloi Laurent.
A contribution that would certainly have been even more valuable today to try to understand together how the world has changed after the dramatic events we are currently experiencing.
