The first session in Trentino of the EUSALP Executive Board, the governing body that brings together the representatives of the EUSALP member regions and states, started today and continues until tomorrow, in the Depero Hall of our Province, with a packed programme of meetings and discussions.
An opportunity to reflect on the macro-regional strategy and share the progress of the activities carried out. At the opening of the proceedings, a welcome to the participants - several dozen in attendance and as many in connection - by the councillor for education, university and culture. The agenda of these two days aims at strengthening the future governance of EUSALP and ensuring the continuity of the Action Groups' work. The Italian Presidency is fully committed to achieving these goals. Today and tomorrow, the Executive Board is called upon to decide and discuss important issues such as future funding for the Action Groups, the role of the technical support structure and the rotation mechanism of the Presidency.
Furthermore, the EUSALP Youth Council (YC) will present its proposal for the Future of Europe Conference, one of the first results of the training activities organised by the Italian Presidency. Tomorrow afternoon, the Autonomous Province of Trento will also host the first workshop on future jobs in the Alps, involving young people from the EUSALP regions and representatives of the YC. As the councillor emphasised again, EUSALP needs "anticipatory policies" in line with the priorities expressed in the European Union's multiannual financial framework 2021-2027: only if we are able to anticipate the great impending change - in terms of both challenges and opportunities - will we be able to guarantee a sustainable future for our future generations.
